Nichibei Lecture Series of the Japan America Society of Minnesota provides the Japanese-speaking community with unique opportunities to hear local professional people and specialists share their expertise, experience and knowledge, and build a network of friendship that contributes to our enjoyment of life in Minnesota. Nichibei Lecture Series hosts speakers on a very broad array of topics. This time, the topic is on “U.S. temporary Visas and Green Card Options” the discussion will include following topics, such as Background agency and administrative information on U.S. immigration law. U.S. temporary visas relevant to Japanese individuals/companies (B-1/B-2, F-1, J-1, H-1B, L-1, E-2, O-1 and K-1). Pathway to permanent residence (green card) and citizenship.

The lecture will be done in Japanese with English slides.

ミネソタ日米協会では、日米レクチャー・シリーズと題して、日本人及び日本語、日本文化に興味がある皆さんを対象に、いろんな分野の専門家の方々から日本語で講演をして頂く機会を設けることになりました。今回は以下の要領で開催いたします。 今回のレクチャーは移民弁護士のサイコ・McIvorさんによる、アメリカ就労ビザやグリーンカードについてお話して頂きます。このレクチャーは日本語で行われます。 ご参加お申し込みの際に、もしご質問等、McIvorさんにお聞きしたいことがありましたら、申し込みのフォームに質問欄がございますので、ご質問ください。事前にMcIvorさんにお渡しして、出来るだけお答えして頂くようにいたします。



Saiko Y. McIvor leads the Immigration Law team of the internal law firm of Dorsey and Whitney, LLP. She is distinguished as “The Best Lawyers in America” (2010-2015) . With 26 years of employment-based immigration practice and corporate law background, she represents business and individual clients with a variety of immigration projects, including temporary US visa applications, Permanent Resident applications, EB-5 applications, global mobility issues, I-9 compliance and training, and merger and acquisition-related counseling. Saiko is a frequent lecturer and author of publications on employment-based immigration subjects. She is a graduate of the University of Washington and Golden Gate University School of Law.

The presentation will be spoken in Japanese with slides written in English. Beginning mid May, we will ask participants to have a question prepared!
