JASM Golf Scrabble Tournament, September 5th

JASM Golf Tournament at the Monticello Country Club in Monticello, MN. This tournament will follow a scramble format, where the best ball per foursome is the one that counts. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. For your benefit, the registration will be capped at 72 players (18 foursomes, one per hole) to ensure the complete the golf round is completed in four hours or less. Bon Odori Workshop July 15, 2019

The Japan America Society of is hosting a Bon Odori workshop on Monday July 15, 2019. The Bon Odori is a traditional dance performed during Obon Festivals throughout Japan. Before the Obon Festival at Como Park in August, local dancers, Sansei Yonsei Kai, will be teaching us the Bon Odori. There will be live music from Mumin and Susie Kuniyoshi and Friends. If you would like to learn the Bon Odori, please come join us at the rehearsal. It is a free event and all are welcome! We recommend that participants wear comfortable clothing and shoes, or yukata. JASM is searching for volunteers for the year’s annual Obon Festival on Sunday, August 18th! These volunteers help with a variety of tasks, from assisting in the festival set-up process to manning our various booths (specifics can be found below). Please stay tuned for more details!
